Sir,
Mr Simmons being still indisposed I have to inform you of the examination of your account and vouchers transmitted in your letter of the 18th Ultimo, and of the admission of all your payments, except that to Capt. Turner of forty three dollars and fifty seven cents, for expences paid in pursuit of deserters, which is suspended until you forward his original bills and receipts for the monies therein charged, the particulars of a noncommissioned Officers expences and his bills, or where they cannot be obtained, his oath is necessary to validate the claim, so as to complete it for examination at this Office. The balance accordingly standing to your debit on the books of this Office is one hundred seventy nine Dollars and sixty eight cents. The Secretary of War will give directions for furnishing you with funds for the payment of the troops for April, May and June.
