Document 1799General St. Clair is the ex officio Superintendent of Indian Affairs within the Northwestern Territory and should be treated with respect by the military officers within the sphere of his jurisdiction. The officers at their respective posts should issue the requisite provisions to the Indians and should follow St. Clair's instructions relative to the delivery of the annual stipends to the Indians guaranteed by the Treaty of Greenville.
