Quincy April 27 1799 Sir I have received your favor of the 22^d with its inclosures. In addition to the approbation expressed in your letter to Gen^l Stephenson of the 9^th, you may if you please, transmit the thanks of the president to the Gen. & to the gentlemen composing the volunteers, & militia attachments for their attention & good conduct during this whole expedition. I have also received your favor of the 19^th I have signed the wardens for Captⁿ Wright & [undecipherable: Saucedo?] Morris; whatever is in this advance is good. The case of Cimmaron Anderson is not so easy to determine, & I shall think of it a little longer. Inclosed is a letter from the [undecipherable], which I beg you to consider. If anything from [undecipherable] Edwards of the order of [undecipherable] he may have have commited with the rules, how send them to your [undecipherable] Secretary at War
