Pittsburg 16th April 1799.
Sir
Your Letter of the 19th inst is this Moment received
Within a few days past a considerable quantity of Hospital Stores and Medicines have come to hand a part of which I have already sent onward and am preparing the Ship the remainder. But am unable to determine to what Post to address some of the Articles viz Kegs of Medicine &c which are marked Fort Massac & West florida — I presume neither the Purveyor nor the Apothecary can expect that I am to open the Packages at this place & apportion the articles therein contained to Massac & Loftus Heights which it is probable are the posts for which the Medicine & Hospital Stores are ultimately intended & which are more than 1.000 Miles apart.—
On the 22d Inst. I sent forward the [undecipherable] [undecipherable: Stores?] to Rofs in charge of Capt Daniel Bibile addressed to the Commanding Officer at Fort Chupac
I am Sir
with great esteem
