I have conferred since with the Secretary of War; at present he says a greater allowance of Clothing than is allowed by law is out of the question, because we have not enough in Store to answer present dues — I however send you the prices of Clothing under the last contract; it may eventually be useful. With respect to Clothing due your men, and Tents to cover them in the summer season, he desires me to inform you that a Magazine of these articles will shortly be established at Boston, from whence you may draw a supply — He thinks with you that Tents will contribute to the health of your men, and that the presence of the Officers will be attended with beneficial effects to order and discipline — I am Sir, your most obed^t Servant — Samuel Morgan Capt.
