[John Steel Comptroller's about Apl 1799] Treasury Department Comptroller's Office April 22^d 1799. Sir, Upon the adjustment of an accompt of James and Ebenezer Watson Merchants of New York, for freight charges &C^a upon the importation of cannon and small arms it appeared that five hundred Muskets and sixty three thousand five hundred flints from Hamburgh in the Brigantine Pulaski have been delivered by them to Ebenezer Stevens Agent of the Department of War. That proper entries may be made in the books of your Office for the purpose of holding M^r Stevens accountable I herewith enclose to you a copy of his receipt on file at the Treasury for the above mentioned articles.— I am Sir, very respectfully Your obed^t Servant.
