Philadelphia 22 April 1799
Sir,
In your letter to me of the 22d February last — you enclosed an account of the Muskets contains in twenty five Cases received of James & Ebenezer Watson, you state a deficiency of [underline: four] stands of Arms, [undecipherable] Gunscrews, and eighty primers Wires — By your receipts for the same bearing date the 12 February, which I have this day received from the Comptroller you charge yours off with the whole contents of the Cases except one of the Muskets which was sent to the Office of the Secretary of the Treasury — one or other of the statements must be wrong, and before I can debit your account I must know which you mean to admit. —
I shall probably see you in york in the course of next Week, I shall be obliged by you naming a respectable Boarding House for the accommodation of Mrs. Montgomery, my wife and self as nearly central as convenient for the few days we shall be in york. — Respects to Mrs. Stevens —
