[undecipherable] James [undecipherable] Sir April 19^th 1799— I am sorry to trouble you so often — but as I wish to commun[icate] the entries in the Book you will oblige me by informing through the bearer whether the articles deliver'd to Capt Vance for the Southampton Expedition ought not to go through the Q. Mr. Gen'l Books, in the same way as articles [undecipherable] to other Posts — that is ought not Capt Vance to be ch'd in our books for the whole of the quarter Master stores [in] the list of the quarter Master stores ought not Mr [Harris] to charge him with the Military [Subsistence] articles he may have got but not as he has done to charge the whole in one entry to the [undecipherable] [undecipherable] If the above Idea is correct [undecipherable] you will make my entries accordingly.
