Memorandum of certain Claims presented by Capt. Butler and the Accountant Remarks on each -- Jesse Locker, inlisted by Capt. Butler in 1795, receives Ten Dollars bounty claims pay from the date of his Inlistment to the 1^st November -- 1796. -- [Remarks of the Accountant] The above named Jesse Locker inlisted by Capt. Crawford on the 10 June 1796 has a balance of bounty due him of four dollars. His pay from the date of his inlistment to the 31 October 1796, is made up on the pay Rolls of Capt. De Butts Company & the Money placed in the hands of Ensign Chandler. -- John Clements, inlisted by Col. Butler receives Ten dollars bounty claims pay from the date of his inlistment to the time he was taken up on the Rolls of Capt. Gibsons Company; since transfered to Capt. Butlers Company. [Remarks of the Accountant] John Clements inlisted by Capt. Crawford, on the 10 June 1796 has a balance of bounty due him of four dollars; noted on the Muster Rolls of Capt Crawford's Company to have descended the Ohio. -- there are no Muster Rolls in this Office of Capt. Gibsons whereby it can be ascertained the date, on which his pay commenced in said Company. John Sergeants claims pay from the date of his inlistment to the 1^st October 1796; then in Capt. De Butts Company -- over John Sergeants inlisted by Capt. Crawford 7 March 1795 [Remarks of the Accountant] it appears by the Muster Rolls of Capt Crawford C^o. that he descended the Ohio with the Commander in Chief, his pay commences in Capt. De Butts C^o. the 1^st October 1796; his name is not to be found, for any previous period on the Rolls in this Office -- If Sergeant can obtain such proof as will satisfy him that the balance claimed is due, he will pay the accounts. -- [continues] Daniel Hogan, joined from the 2^d Regiment the 11 May 1797 -- claims pay from the 1 Jany 1796 to the day he joined the 4^th Regiment. -- [Remarks of the Accountant] Daniel Hogan, Private in Capt. Lymans C^o. has pay due from the 1 January 1796 to 11 May 1797 the date he was transferred to the 4^th Regiment being on command for the above period at Loramies. Nathaniel Barnes, transferred from the 2^d Regiment, claims pay for 17 Months to include the 31^st December 1796 -- from 2^d Regiment. [Remarks of the Accountant] Nathaniel Barnes first in Capt. M^cClary's C^o. received his pay up to the 31 December 1795, has pay due from 1 January to the 31 October 1796 from said Company and from the 1 November to 31^st December 1796 from Capt. Greaton's Company to which he was transferred on the 1^st November 1796. -- being on command during the above period at Loramies. Twelve or thirteen Men of the troop of Light Dragoons joined Van Ranselairs Troop (at Fort Washington previous to coming to this Country) claims six Months pay left in the hands of Lieut Charles Hyde Pay Master to the 1^st Regiment from the 1 May to the 31 October 1796 inclusive, as the Pay [undecipherable] [Remarks of the Accountant] list of Men not made up for Pay on pay Rolls of Capt. Taylors troop of light Dragoons, from the 1 May to 31 October 1796 -- Joined Capt. Van Ranslairs Troop 1 November 1796 -- Viz. Francis Jordan Serg^t Barth^s. [undecipherable] Private John Smith Corporal -- William Jones ditto Christian Anderson ditto -- M^r. [undecipherable] Nixon ditto Jacob Burkhart ditto George Stevens ditto Peter Bentley -- ditto Martin [undecipherable] ditto John Walker -- ditto John Deavy ditto with Lieut. Blue and paid at the Accountants Office to the 31 March 1796 [Remarks of the Accountant] If the above Men thus named are those meant by the PayMaster in his Remarks of 12 or 13 Men which joined Van Ranselairs Troop, they have pay due them from the 1 May to the 31 October 1796, except John Deavy who was paid at the Accountant's Office to the 31^st March 1796, the Agent is hereby authorized to pay the amount, they are the only names which the Accountant can discover on the Rolls as having any Balance due them. -- A List was forwarded by Major Cushing of many Men, but those Men being the greatest Sufferers are now forwarded.
