430. &^Sr Philadelphia, 19^th April 1799 Your favour of the 17^th inst^t is before me — am happy to find the [undecipherable] is completed, and M^r Owens decidedly represents the necessity of immediately equipping the [undecipherable] that she may descend the River with appearance of good order — The papers shall be forwarded shortly — The enclosed letters are desired — Nothing very material to communicate — Subsequent report says, General Morgan is not dead — inform which report is true — I am Sir, your most Obedient Servant — Major Isaac Craig. — Samuel Hodgdon — Philadelphia, 19^th April 1799. Sir, I have received your note of this date. The Store denominated Quarter Masters which as heretofore embraced Medicine and Hospital Stores is only to pass through your Books. Cloathing and Military Stores are to be procured by you as has been usual — Invoices will be handed you of all articles delivered for this purpose, and you will be held accountable for their safe keeping and delivery agreeable thereto — The Officers, and [undecipherable] to whom they are delivered will be charged with them by the Keeper as usual — I have money in hand to meet all my acceptances, Shall not therefore need a further supply for some time to come I do not think it will be best to draw under positive cases request it — Drafts have always days sufficient allowed to make provision for their discharge — I am — &^c.
