I requested you to give me Instructions to govern me in my payments — Nothing of the kind has come to hand. — A Muster of the Troops has lately taken place, and I find from the Rolls, that each Troop of Dragoons have a Lieut^t mustering, provost of the . . . as Surgeon, & two two Lieutenants — I have not attended to the Acts of Congress or their judges either, & at [strikethrough: this force], which I think is impracticable, & I therefore beg that you will inform me early, the number of Officers and their respective grades, and pay P Month [strikethrough: that] each Troop are legally entitled to, be pleased also to mention the noncommissioned Officers & Privates with their pay, distinguishing between the W.
