Department of War Accountants Office April the 16 1799 I Certify that there is due to a Company of the second Regiment of Artillerists and Engineers, under the command of Captain Lemuel Gates, the sum of one thousand three hundred sixty five Dollars and thirty two Cents, being for the pay of himself, Lieutenant George W. Duncan, and the non commissioned Officers and Privates of the said Company from 1^st December 1798 to the 28^th February 1799 — which sum is to be transmitted to Jonathan Jackson Supervisor at Boston to be by him paid to the said Captⁿ Gates, who is to be held accountable for the due application thereof.
