M^r James Onner Master builder is dismissed and paid in full for all his Services [strikethrough: here, together with an allowance for [undecipherable] expenses to this] place and returning agreeable to Contract— By last post I informed. the Secretary of War that the Galley was then nearly compleated & urged a necessity of her descending the Ohio in the course of this month or early in the next — I wish you would take the trouble of impressing him with the propriety of making use of the present Season, in (at least) her passing the Rapids— In equipping the Galley some things are wanting which cannot be procured at this place — viz Cannon Cartridge Paper. Cartridge & Whipping twine, one or two Mariners Compasses, Spare blocks & cordage for Rigging and a 4½ inch Cable — those sent being too small for a vessel of her Burthen— I am Sir, Your mo obed.
