Philadelphia 3 April 1800 Sir Since the time I was liberated from arrest I have momentily looked with anxiety for you to put certain threats in execution, which was made in presence of Captain Butler on the 26^th February last — That as soon as you had done Justice to your office by having me arrested and tried by Court Martial you would punish me personally — But as I have had some proofs of the treachery of your memory, I fear this circumstance has also been forgotten — Conscious that I have been grossly insulted by you and that every exertion has been made on your part to disgrace and injure me and that you was instigated by malice and personal resentment alone and not (as you have insinuated) by an anxiety for the public good — Under these impressions, I now call on you in the most pointed manner for immediate satisfaction. — Captain [undecipherable] will make the necessary arrangements with you.
