Sir, By accident I have discovered that certain articles for the Cavalry equipments which will be called for, are not in the public Store — Valices and Shabrippions with Straps, too are entirely destitute of — One hundred of each will probably be equal to the present call, but I am of Opinion that twice the number should be provided and placed in the public Store. — We have 169 pairs of Holsters on hand without covers — there it would seem best also to provide to complete the Saddles to which they are attached — Nose Bags, I believe have been provided if not, one hundred of them will be necessary — I am, Sir, James McHenry, Esqr. your most ob^t.
