Sir, Since mine enclosing an order on Major Lang- ham for all the Stores on hand, I have found it necessary to forward as many Common Tents to Pittsburg from there: he has as will make a fair load for a waggon, suppose two hundred. I have thought it best to communicate this subsequent order through you— it is enclosed, and you will please to forward it as early as possible — The Weather is now growing to be pleasant and invites to a commencement of the operations on public accom- at your Post, the Canal in particular claims immediate atten- tion— I have written to M^r Brindley on Communications all I have to offer on that subject— I hope he is, or will be with you soon — I am, Sir, your most obedient Servant Samuel Hodgdon M^r John Mackey — Sir, Philadelphia, 26 March, 1799.
