The Secretary of War requests me to sends you the enclosed papers for the purpose of obtaining satisfactory information on the subject to which they relate— By Captain Littlefield's Letter it appears Thomas Hallam is in New York; you will please to call on him to know what has become of the three Chests of Medicines and Surgeons Instruments, and act in the business as his conduct may Warrant— As the enclosed are original papers, you will please to return them, that they may be placed in their respective files—
