[Newtown March 2^d. 1799 — No. 293 — [undecipherable] Miller — Ans^d] [To Samuel Hodgdon War office, Philadelphia] Sir Newtown March 2^d. 1799 On my arrivale here I find every thing right, and agreeable to your wishes— The inha= bitants generally have come forward to offer every necessary assistance— General Murray, has given me permission to occupy the Court house as the place of rendezvous, which is very suitable for that purpose— on account of the very heavy rain that continued all this day, it was impossible for me to get people to haul the wood and straw. I have however agreed with a Person for both, and shall early tomorrow morning commence hauling, and after having seen the whole regularly delivered, I shall immediately return to the City — I'd thank you to shew this to the Quarter Master General — Your ob^t Servant [signature] Col Sam^l Hodgdon
