Mount Pleasant March 10. 1799. Dear Sir The Bearer William Adams is a Gunstock maker who arrived from Ireland last [undecipherable]; being the Brother of my Tenant he has [undecipherable] living on my place, & working among the neighbours as a Carpenter. So far as, [interlined: I canjudgedly] the observation of about 6 months, mostly under my daily notice, I have no hesitation to say I think M^r Adams a very industrious and deserving man, and wishing to be usefull to him, I take the liberty of introducing him to your notice; that in case you have employment to give in his line, or can, by repeating my recommendation to others, procure it for him, his merits may be known. I make no apology for this my dear Sir because I am sensible that you take pleasure in obliging when the object is worthy.
