Document 1799Capt. Thomas Lewis has written that in settling his account with Simmons' office, sundry charges have not been admitted to which Lewis feels entitled. He therefore has made an appeal to the Treasury. Simmons is requested to furnish a statement of the several sums disallowed with the appropriate vouchers and the reasons that they were disallowed.
