Sir,
Enclosed is an account of the Arms and Military Stores sent to Savannah to the address of John Habersham for the use of the State of Georgia, in the year 1793. It seems these Stores were put into the hands of a certain Joshua Meigs, and made subject to the draft of the Governor of the State. The only return I have from Jno Meigs is dated 1st July 93November 1795, when a considerable portion of the Stores had been delivered — for the remainder he is debited in my Books, and will be held accountable for them until exhonorated by regular vouchers.
As the whole were forwarded for the use of the State they are justly chargeable to it — unless it shall appear that the whole have not been Drawn for by its authorized Agent —
I am Sir,
Your Most Obedt Servant
