Sir, To pay seven accepted Bills drawn on me by the Quarter Master General and his Assistants, I request a Warrant for seven thousand four hundred & thirty three Dollars and thirty three Cents, the Amount of which to be charged to him as usual. I am Sir, Your Most Ob^t Serv^t Samuel Hodgdon James M^cHenry Esq^r Secretary of War Philadelphia 27^th Feb^y 1799 Sir, Enclosed is an Account of the Arms and Military Stores sent to Savannah, to the address of John Thiberkham for the use of the State of Georgia in the year 1793. M^r Simons those Stores were put into the hands of a certain Joshua Morris and made subject to the draft of the Governor of the State. The last return I have from M^r Morris is dated 1^st July 1798, when a considerable portion of the Stores had been delivered, for the remainder he is debited in my Books. I will be held accountable for them until exonerated by regular returns. As the whole were forwarded for the use of the State they are justly chargeable to it, unless it should appear that the whole have not been drawn for by its authoriz^d agent. I am &c.
