Mr Conner set off yesterday for Pittsburgh, finding your folks in the humour for reading, I availed myself of so good an opportunity for sending you three volumes of the Glance, a work by McMurray the sister of Governor Sargent; it is on many pleasing Subjects, and has merit — price three and a half Dollars — I have also sent you a celebrated novel called the Monk, it is deep and dreadful — price two dollars — I wish you to forward the enclosed letter — all the arrangements are yet locked up —
