I avail myself of McBurness going to your place to enclose the Accounts of the Stores, gone forward in John McCanaly's Waggon for yourself & others. The whole is charged to you, and I send forward a copy of the Waggoners advance to enable you to settle with him as it is also charged to your Account, agreeably to my engagement with M^r Canahy that he should receive his whole pay at Pittsburg. Nothing has yet transpired relative to the Department; notwithstanding the short time the present Congress has to live, no appropriations are yet made, these when under consideration will disclose what alterations may take place. I shall write you again by Post. I have heard of Jacob Death, he is at work in Baltimore. I have sent his receipt to my friend to recover the money, and doubt not it will be effected.
