Commandg] Detroit 8^th February 1799 Sir I have been honor'd with your letter of the 17^th of December last.— In respect to the Hogshead of Cloathing N^o 12, containing 100 Privates Vests & 100 Privates Woollen Overalls, it came safe to hand on the 24^th of October last & in good Order which was very pleasing to me.— I am happy to find that the Measures now taking by Government will Insure in future a timely & full supply of Cloathing & every thing necessary for the Troops.— I am Begg Sir, with Great Esteem & regard, Your Obedient H^ble Servant— (Duplicate) D.
