[pg 147] Dep^t of War The Adjutant's [Office?] July 1^st 1799 Sir In consequence of your request for the information of M^r Dover, I have caused the Muster Rolls to be examined and find a person by the Name of John Thompson Mustered at Detroit in Captain McClary's Company, his last inlistment expired on the 12^th of January 1798 at which time he was discharged; and soon after reinlisted again in the same Company for five years. — if M^r Dover wishes him discharged application must be made to the Commanding Officer at Detroit who will judge of the propriety of granting it. — I am Sir with great respect your ob^t serv^t H.
