For a particular use, I request you to consult Captain Ames, and answer the following questions without delay Viz,
1st The expenditures for the Establishment, in each year, from its commencement to the year 1798 inclusive.
2d The number of Arms manufactured, in each year,
3d The number of Arms repaired, in each year, the nature, and value of the repairs.
4th The average estimate of the cost of making & finishing, for use a complete Musket, deduced from the number made in the whole period, Expenditures for the same.
I shall endeavour to investigate and answer the above questions myself, from such documents as I possess, and can procure, and I wish an opportunity to compare with a Statement made on the spot, it may be of essential use to the Establishment.
You may make such remarks as justice will warrant to detail any other business done at the works during the establishment of them. lose no time in making the communication.
