Philadelphia 25^th January 1799. Dear Sir I have received your letter of the 10th inst. I am sorry for the fate of the Boat, but happy to find the cargo safe. I do hope that Sargents articles will get safely & speedily to hand, he has been very unfortunate in the transportation of his effects from time to time. Your drafts have been presented & honored. Every thing is in motion respecting public concerns, but nothing concluded on, a considerable additional force will I think be agreed to, tho' the question still hangs on the whole.
