well remember that the General Officers lately convened at Philadelphia hesitated not a little between this Gentleman and Mr Ellery for the command

placed full to the left of Lieutenants that he might be first for promotion to a Captaincy

he is on the contrary places last on the list of Lieutenants

mistake

accept the appointment of Lieutenant on the ground I have mentioned

he ought to be so secured

pretentious as to family qualification give him a strong title

arrangement is not now to be definitively fixed
