I requested you to send me an account of Bacon furnished me and Some Clothing — you have forgot, will thank you to send it to me, that I may balance my Books as you stand charged with Twentytwo Dollars paid to your order, and no Credit is opposed to it — I am about to send a further supply of Clothing for Cap^t Kean at Easton in Pennsylvania, I believe I shall send them to you as before to forward— you can forward them on him times than Some from hence by Land — I am, Sir your most Obedient Servant, Samuel Hodgdon — Major Zeler Hunt — Philadelphia 17^th Januy 1799 Sir Having no personal knowledge of any suitable person in New Canton or its vicinity to inspect the leather made there by M^r Smith I have enquired & endeavoured to find one to recommend for that service, but I have not succeeded. It therefore remains either to send a person from New York, or this city, to make the inspection I think it likely, Col^o Stevens, your Agent in York, may be able to find one properly qualified who will undertake the occasion; if so, time & expence will be saved.
