Your account as stated is not accurate, though the amount is right— you have left the quarter Salary from [undecipherable] undrawn and have recommd that commencing the first of July— The inclosed statement is right, you will please to sign the order in the face of it and return it to me immediately that I may receive the amount and pass it to your credit— I have heard nothing from you respecting the last Cloathing forwarded by the way of york— for the Northern Posts— hope to hear soon— I have heard you have been unwell, hope this gets to hand and— in hopes you will be perfectly restored—

Your letter of the 24th Ultimo came duly to hand— With this you will receive the four letter Books, which the Commander in Chief directed you to apply to me for, the size is agreeable to the dimensions at the foot of your letter, and the Paper and Binding are of the best kind— I hope they will get safely to hand, and be approved of by the General— The Box will secure the Books from injury by transporting— Be pleased to acknowledge the Receipt of them and at the same time inform me whether the last Stationary forwarded is received it must have arrived when the General was from home.
