Lieutt Hugh M.Call Dept Pay Master Genl Accountatnts Office January 3rd 1800 Sir Your letter of the 30’ Nov last Year came duly to hand- I had presumed that you would one this have learnt of your appointment as Deputy Pay Master General, or I would certainly have communicated it to you permit me now to congratulate you thereon, and to express a wish that the business with which you are entrusted will be done to the satisfaction of all concerned. On enquiry at the Office of the Pay Master General, I find that after your appointment, the necessary steps have been taken to place in your hands sufficient funds to pay the Troops in Georgia, to the end of the last year, with that Officer it will rest to take the proper measures in future + to him you are requested to make your communications and that subject.
