In answer to your letter of the 17^th Inst^t requesting whether the Agent for paying the Militia of Maryland, &^c press to be repaid them "the additional pay conformably to the original pay rolls without varying therefrom" I can remark that the pay rolls are made up generally for 3 M^o & 5 days, by the Pay Master General of the Militia Army at three Dollars per Month, agreeably to the Pay allowed by law previous to the act of the 2^d January 1795, and the additional pay for same period at three Dollars &⁰⁰ per Month by the state agent (allowed by the act of the 2^d January 1795)
