In consequence of your letter of the 18th instant the accompt of Ebenezer Stevens Agent for the Department of War, has been closed on the books of the Treasury for the sum of fifteen thousand dollars, as will appear from the Certificate of the Register herewith transmitted. —
You are therefore requested to cause such entries to be made in the books of your Office for charging and holding the said Ebenezer Stevens accountable for the same, as shall appear to you necessary for that purpose. —
