I enclose you a description of the person of Alexander Jamison who has made a practice of in listing with every recruiting officer who will receive him, and on receiving the boun-ty immediately deserts. Should he offer to you, or come within your reach you will put him in close confinement and give me information of it, that I may give directions for his punishment
