Pittsburg 14^th Decem 1798 Sir, I have received your Letter of the 3^d & 7^th Instant the former containing Instructions to draw in favours of Gen Nevill for the Amount of my Estimate of Pay, Subsistence &c of the Troops at the upper Posts for October, Novem^r & December &c to which I shall pay due Attention — Your Letter of the 7^th covering one addressed to Isaac Williams jun of Sandusky which I shall send forward by the first safe conveyance that may offer — the Indian that brought the Despatch from Sandusky having returned shortly after her arrival here. Capt. Edw. Millers Detachment is now here preparing to embark for Fort Washington — The Water of the Allegheny continuing too low to launch the Galley until the near Approach of Winter at which time it is not deemed safe to send her down the River — It has accordingly been concluded by the 2^d M^r Gen that she continues on the Stocks until the Winter is past — Hon^ble James M^cHenry Secretary of War— Pittsburg 15^th December 1798
