Sir,
I enclose you an Abstract of Payments made by Col. David Henley, agent for the Department of War in the State of Tennessee; on account of the Army Department from December 1794 to June 25, 1798 amounting to Three thousand, Nine hundred, Eighty seven dollars and eighty nine Cents; —
Also an Abstract of Payments made by him, to the Pay Masters of the detached third; and Fourth United States Regiments from the 14th day of April 1797 to the 20th day of October 1798 amounting to Sixty seven Thousand, Three hundred, Thirty two Dollars and [undecipherable] cents; — These Abstracts have been by me carefully taken from the Waste Books of the Agent of War, and find the charges correspond with the Vouchers.
There has likewise been forwarded to you by this days post, the vouchers to the Contingent Abstracts, for the Years 1795, 1797 and to the 30th day of June 1798. —
