Dear Sir, Agreeably to my promise of yesterday I enclose a draft on the Branch Bank of your City for 124.700 Dollars being the Amount received of the Secretary of State on your Bill in my favor— I have not had time to examine your Return nor indeed is it necessary as you inform me you shall forward another statement shortly— The Accountant Simmons has exhibited a list of Articles purchased by you as Agent to the War Department between the date of your appointment and the 31^st August last which is debited to your Store Account in my Books— if you have the vouchers for the delivery or expenditure of the whole or any part thereof you had better send them forward and have them passed to your credit.
