Dear Sir,
I am this Moment favoured with your letter of the 23d Inst covering Receipts for money paid Turner Lofbary & Miller, Ship Carpenters and accompanied by a Letter to Governor Sargent & one to Capt Ernest &c which will be sent forward by safe hands. Mr Watrous is gone to Marietta but will return in a few days. he will no doubt be pleased with the disposal of his Medicine.
In consequence of your letter of the 12th of September last and one from the Secretary of the Treasury to the same import I have been occasionally supplied with Cash for the purposes of the 2 Qm Department by Genl John Nevill. the Sum total of which amounts to Eight thousand seven hundred & Sixty nine Dollars & 79/100 for which Sum I have this day drawn on you at five days Sight in favour of John Nevill Esqr Inspector of Revenue which be pleased to pay and charge as usual that being the Amt Amount of Monies that remained in the Hands of Genl Nevill. I sincerely thank you for your Promises of mentioning my Business to the Secretary &c
I am not satisfied with some Innovations lately made in the Quar Master Department by the D.Qmr Genl at this Post. I have not now time to detail that Business to you but shall hereafter,
