[New Castle 23^d Nov [undecipherable] claiming rec^d 28^th [undecipherable] Ans^d same day] Sir, New Castle Nov. 23^d. 1798 Enclosed is my recruiting Acct — There are Three Dollars paid Jacob Forsman, for which there is no Receipt, he was taken down with the Billious fever in a day or two after I inlisted him & did before I got a Receipt — I have left a Blank for the sum to be allowed for Musicians during the time I had them I paid for their board & have never drawn any Rations for them; — Therefore if it is proper you will add their Rations, at the Contract price, in filling up the Blanks. — If on Settlement there should be any thing due [undecipherable] I should be glad you could forward it to Newcastle, together with so much of my pay as may be due, before I embark for Charlestown South Carolina.
