Sir.
Your letter of 15th ulto. I had the honor duly to receive. The Naval Committee have purchased the lands necessary for the Fortifications &c at Whetstone Point for which they have paid the sum of six thousand, six hundred dollars, and the works are in great forwardness for the time.
Their Expenditures have been such as to necessitate my drawing upon you for a further sum. and have therefore to request, you will honor my draft of this date, at two days sight, in favour of George Sears, for eight thousand dollars — being with great respect
