[William Simmons November 1798] Department of War Accountants Office Novem^r 13^th 1798 Sir I have received your letter dated the 1^st Inst. inclosing a receipt Roll for the Pay & rations & deductions for the month of September also a Muster & Pay Roll for October 1798 which has been examined & found to differ from your Statement in a sum of Ninety Cents being the Pay of Henry Bellshaw deceased which being deducted leaves an Amount of Two hundred & fourteen Dollars & thirty two cents (the am^t of your subsistance from 1 Aug^t to 31 Oct^r 98 included) which sum you will receive from Nicholas Fish Esq^r Supervisor at New York granting your duplicate receipts to be accountable for the due application thereof — The receipt Roll already acknowledged in this letter has also been examined & found correct. the amount receipted being one hundred & fifty nine Dollars will accordingly be placed to the Credit of your account on the books of this Office — you will receive herewith blank Muster, Pay & Receipt Rolls agreeable to your request — I am Sir your Obed^t Serv^t [signature] W Simmons Ensign Wm R.
