I have received your letter dated the 1st Inst. inclosing a receipt Roll for the Pay & rations & deductions for the month of September also a Muster & Pay Roll for October 1798 which has been examined & found to differ from your Statement in a sum of Ninety Cents being the Pay of Henry Bellshaw deceased which being deducted leaves an Amount of Two hundred & fourteen Dollars & thirty two cents (the amt of your subsistance from 1 Augt to 31 Octr 98 included) which sum you will receive from Nicholas Fish Esqr Supervisor at New York granting your duplicate receipts to be accountable for the due application thereof —
The receipt Roll already acknowledged in this letter has also been examined & found correct. the amount receipted being one hundred & fifty nine Dollars will accordingly be placed to the Credit of your account on the books of this Office —
you will receive herewith blank Muster, Pay & Receipt Rolls agreeable to your request —
