[Majr Isaac Craig— / g Pittsburg / Public—] [Received from State Dep^t / Nov. 24 [18??] / B.P.C 4018[?]] Samuel Hodgdon Esq^r Pittburg 9^th Novem^r 1798— Dear Sir Your favour of the 2^d Instant is now before me by which I have the very pleasing information of Health being again restored to your City— The inhabitants of our little Town have not been unmindful of the distress occasioned by that awful Scourge to their Poor Citizens, A Subscription has been set on foot and sums Collected for their Relief Amounting nearly to five hundred Dollars which will shortly be remitted— On the return of the Secretary of War and Secy of State to the City, I have to beg of you to again Urge my old Claim— Jacob Death after working three Days disappeared being indebted to several people of this place, Please to enquire for him & if possible secure the Sum you Advanced to him [I] have now a bad opinion of him— I have to Request you to send me the Laws of Congress under the Administration of the President Adams.
