Dear Sir
By a Waggon that leaves this City in a day or two for Pittsburg I shall draw on you a &you request for the fifty Dollars on account of the note which you was kind enough to collect. it will make part of the Waggoners advance on his load to Pittsburg, and will save you the trouble of a remittance. The Public Officers are returning to the City. the Secretaries of the Treasury and War are arrived. General Washington comes in to day; as does Cole Hamilton — we begin to look quite alive again —
Will thank you to inform your Son we have not recieved any Vests or Woollen Overalls. Since I wrote to him — and at present are unable to make up a complete suit for any place. We will Soon —
I am Sir
Yours truly

Sir,
I am making a General Return of the most important Military Stores on hand at the several Posts under the direction of the Secretary of War. Powder is an essential Article indeed — and to bring as much as possible of it into view. I wish you to turn over the Seventy Barrels loaned, you in the Month of June 9? to Mr Harris, that his Account may be debited to yours for that quantity — in this way it will appear in my Return —
How the umainder you have in the Magazine is to be returned, so as to come into view, &mains to be determined —
I am Sir
Your most Obedt Servt
Samuel Hodgdon
