Philadelphia 7th November 1795.
Sir,
I have examined the bark containing the Dolp. Mississippi and am clearly of opinion that it will not stand the required transportation; it leaks badly already — I think it will be best to slat it into some Cases; it certainly will go in this way with more safety. I wish something respecting it may be concluded on immediately as I am making up loads for Pittsburg, and the Oil will make a part —
I am Sir,

Sir,
I have received no return of the Ordnance & Stores at your Post since the 11th January last, that was from Major Toufard, there must be considerable alterations since that time. I am now making out a Return of such Articles for the use of the Commander in Chief of the Armies of the United States which I wish to have accurate for this purpose, as far as respects your command I request a Return particularly stating the number and kinds of Ordnance, and every species of Stores for them. Also a Return of such other Articles as fall more immediately into the Quarter Masters' Department. Be pleased to send it to me as soon as possible.
