Dear Sir
You will find by receipt do in your Office that I received the pay for my Company up to the 1st of June 1798 I have made all the payments except two Privates. Suppose that they will join Soon. if they Do not will forward the receipt Note. as it now Stands. I have likewise accounted with Majr Craig for the 400 Doll which I had in advance & Sent his receipt; & the Some Small remains that if he has not accounted with you for that Sum.
I think it a hardship that I Should be obliged to be Paymaster to my Company when I am told that Maj Craig receives five Pr cent and all the money that [undecipherable] & I have all the trouble and accountability. Could I not have the Pay immediately from you and have a like allowance for the trouble
I have taken the liberty to inclose a letter to your care for Capt Bryant [300]
