I leave you to answer according to law & usage Inclosed also is a letter of Lt Col from a Major Gen Hull & brigadier Gen Weince with an address from the officers of the 1 Brigade 3^d division You will please to consider all these papers together & give such an answer as is as fol. I believe we must accept the brigade which offer as a volunteer corps & appoint Hull as a brigadier Walther perhaps will be appointed as Lt Colon in the army.
