Pittsburg 19th October 1798
Sir
I have received your letter of the 9th Instant, accompanied by a Statement of my Account in your Office; and which although I have not had time to compare with mine, I presume is accurate.
Captains Turner and Lyman — together with Doctors Carmichael & Wallace [strikethrough: ——] being very importunate for money for themselves and Companies, I have anticipated an expected Remittance, by already making Payments, and which I presume you have seen by the several Vouchers transmitted to your Office by last Post—
An Estimate of Pay, Subsistence and Forage of the Troops of the upper Posts, up to the last of September '98 is enclosed herewith. The Amount 2863 Dollars & 63 Cents from which deduct 356,,69 Cents, the Balance by your Statement against me; leaves the sum of 2506 Dollars and 96 Cents, which I have to request you to remit in as small notes as possible.—
I amt Sir,
your obedt Serv.t
Isaac Craig
