Pittsburg 19^th October 1798 Sir I have received your letter of the 9^th Instant, accompanied by a Statement of my Account in your Office; and which although I have not had time to compare with mine, I presume is accurate. Captains Turner and Lyman together with Doctors Carmichael & Wallace [strikethrough: being] being very importunate for money for themselves and Companies, I have anticipated an expected Remittance, by already making Payments, and which I presume you have seen by the several Vouchers transmitted to your Office by last Post. An Estimate of Pay, Subsistence and Forage of the Troops of the upper Posts, up to the last of September '98 is enclosed herewith.
