Dear Sir.
I am favoured with yours of the 12th Inst. I am at a loss what to do about the articles provisioning for you. That on your account of the 12 ultimo, now countermanded by the D. M. General I have been pressing the Secretary of War on the subject, and the order for the purchase under my directions is in the hand of the Purveyor — I shall however suspend such as are not provided — untile I hear farther from you or him on the subject —
My family remain well — My Clerks are all away — and the business pressing — Many interments this morning yet the disease is certainly abating — adieu — Please to forward the enclosed as early as may be convenient —
yours truly
