Sir, Enclosed you will find a Certificate bearing the signature of the Register of the Treasury by which you will discover that the accompt of James O'Hara as Contractor for supplying the Army of the United States with provisions, has been closed on the books of the Treasury, by a credit for the sum of three hundred and sixty one thousand, two hundred and thirty nine dollars and nine cents; being the balance of monies unaccounted for by him, which were heretofore advanced from the Treasury on account of supplies for the Army as aforesaid. For this balance therefore of three hundred and sixty one thousand two hundred and thirty nine dollars, and nine cents you are requested to debit the said James O'Hara as Contractor aforesaid, in the books of your Office, by making such entries for that purpose, as the nature of the case may require. M^r O'Hara's letter dated the 13^th of April 1798, and the accompts and vouchers which it accompanied to the Treasury, are transmitted herewith for the purpose of being examined and adjusted in your Office, pursuant to the Act of Congress passed on the 16^th of July last.
